When the Child Becomes the Mother

With her protruded stomach, she dragged her feet to the kitchen for a meal. Then came that pressure. The water bag just burst open. In the labour room, she dares to exert the energy the nurses seem to believe she’s got which she can’t find. And after so many trials of pushes, she is relieved of the baby. It’s a girl child!

Her trainings begin from the very first day she is born. Her mum sings the joy of motherhood into her tender ears and she observes the mother’s every move. From swinging the broomstick across the floor, to climbing on a seat to reach the plates in the sink, and then rinsing the clothes while her mother washes. At her tender age, she becomes responsible for the house chores. These are very important in the life of the little one before she even gets to her teen age.

While she learns to cook and take care of the home, she unconsciously develops a motherly heart and could be emotional. Her tasks do not get lighter, they only increase. Puberty sets in just when she is trying to find herself in the so many things she has to learn. She now has much more to learn. This is the perfect time she learns about pregnancy but she isn’t going to get pregnant soon.

Her career path is set before her and she gradually walks into Womanhood. Her heart begins to yearn for a mate but she has to take great care for her heart is fragile. She combines family, career, love and society. With little or no training, she develops herself physically, mentally and emotionally. She nurtures her love and builds her career. She gets her heart broken, draws her strength from within and must remain focused. Not just for herself but for her kids, her future. Yet she desires love because she is emotionally dependent.

The girl child is prone to different types of depression due to her emotional weakness. She is also prone to diseases such as migraine headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, high blood pressure (hypertension), etc. Her communication skill and emotional intelligence are great and she prefers to share and care.

The girl child has grown into a woman just like her mother and desires to have her own children. She finds love and gets married. The girl child doesn’t find it so difficult to take care of her husband and her new home, she has been prepared for it even at her tender years.

Few months after, she is heavy with a child but still reports to work to help her home. She has to keep the home neat and take care of her husband.
