Heather Watson knocked out of first round in Seoul Open

Britain’s Heather Watson was knocked out of the first round of the Korea Open by Sara Sorribes Tormo. Sara served 13 double faults to Watson’s 5 but Watson failed to back up her serve thereby winning less than half the points on her own serve.

Watson who is ranked 78th, moving back into the top 100, has failed to get past the first round in Korea after reaching the third round at Wimbledon. This is her fourth failed attempt at getting past the first round, losing 6-3 0-6 6-1 to Sara. She lost in one hour and 36 minutes, claiming the second set to love.

Spaniard Sorribes Tormo is ranked 78th (14 places lower than the Briton) and will take on Kristyna Pliskova in the next round.
