4 phones that kept 2017 agog

2017 awaited the arrival and launching of unforeseen technology in the mobile world. True to it, no disappointments. We await more but so far, these phones are more than we could imagine. We are only left to our imaginations for what to expect in the coming years.

Samsung S8

Technology just went a bit higher in exploring all other parts of the body in securing one’s privacy. The S8 launches the face-recognition system for immediate unlocking of the device. Also introducing the iris-scanning, one has to force your eyelids open to gain access to your phone when you are asleep. Added to that, every moment is captured so clearly and accurately with the 12MP rear camera and 8MP front camera.

HTC U11

The HTC U11 was released in June and is the first smartphone to launch Amazon’s Alexa voice service hands-free. With Always-On Microphone capability, the smartphone responds to vocal questions at any time without having to be held. With just a squeeze, you go wherever you wish. The phone is built with a 12MP camera which makes each shot clear and balanced. Multiple shots are nothing to worry about. They are just as clear as ever.

The amazing internal 64GB, 4GB RAM/ 128GB, 6GB RAM is not one to be missed, with slot for up to 256GB memory card. The battery life is 24h 30min talk time and 336h standby.

Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

The anticipated iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are water and dust resistant. New to the technology game is the wireless charging capability that Apple has introduced into its new model. Wireless charging stations and mats replace USB cables. The wireless charging mats are sold separately and the resistance to water and dust decreases due to normal wear. The iPhone 8 features dual-domain pixels of a more advanced 12MP camera, a larger and faster sensor, and optical image stabilization for photos and videos.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Despite the shortcomings of the Note 7, Samsung’s launch of the Note 8 has shown that Samsung remains unshakeable in its stance as the leading Android smartphone maker. The Note 8 has recorded more orders than Note 7 within a short time of release. It is almost similar to the Galaxy S8+ but only 0.1 inch bigger. Built with Samsung’s multi-tasking features (including split-screen multitasking), it is water and dust resistant. The Samsung Note 8 is equipped with a dual-censor 12MP camera and both censors use optical image stabilization.
