WWE’s first full-time female referee

WWE takes a new shape with Jessika Carr as the first full-time female referee. The Baltimore Native is a former professional wrestler who performed under the name Kennadi Brink. She was trained under the Dudley Boys and Gillberg. WWE signed the independent wrestler with the intention of using her as an in-ring official, not a competitor.

Brink is the first woman to work a men’s match in NXT history. She made her debut in Orlando, calling the action in Lars Sullivan’s win over Kishan Raftaar in June. She also officiated a Ruby Riot vs. Mandy Rose bout. Brink is expected to take up her role as a referee during the WWE’s Mae Young Classic tournament, recorded as the first-ever women’s tournament. Its final event is to take place on 12th September, 2017.
